Huston-Tillotson College Explores Partnership With Lasting Value

Meredith Beal (L) & Dr. Larry Earvin, Pres. HT

Austin, Texas — Dr. Christine B. Cash Education Foundation board member Meredith Clayton Beal met with Dr. Larry Earvin, President of Huston-Tillotson College to explore programs to enhance learning opportunities at HT and discuss how Beal's experience and expertise as a world-class technology professional can be shared with the students and faculty at the school.

Beal offered a proposal on behalf of a strategic partnership involving the Foundation, Teach 1 Entertainment and Lasting Value Learning. Elements of the proposal include offering a two-day web design workshop, which was already in progress; offering courses leading to certification in web design; offering internship opportunities for students with Lasting Value to learn broadcasting, marketing and multimedia production skills; offering curriculum consultation in communications and technology and working with the school to create revenue opportunities.

Dr. Earvin noted that he had heard good things about Lasting Value and that there was a buzz around the school resulting from the company's presence on campus over the past several months. Also attending the meeting were Jonathan Clark of Teach 1 Entertainment, Dr. Sandra Vaughn, VP Academic Affairs, HT; and Bob Young, Director of Diversity for Dell Corporation and Donna Mata, publicist for Lasting Value.
